Story
I’m stepping out so girls can step up!
On Saturday 8 August 2026, I’m taking part in Walk My Way Brisbane to help protect refugee girls in danger of child marriage by supporting them to stay in school.
Every step that I take along the Brisbane River will be a personal reminder of the challenges faced by girls in refugee camps in Kenya and Somalia – and of the hope education can bring.
I’m also committed to fundraising, because education changes everything for girls in danger. When girls stay in school, they are safer, healthier and better able to choose their own futures. School protects them from early marriage and early motherhood, and gives them the chance to dream, work and lead.

Your gift will help keep refugee girls in school by supporting teachers, providing safe learning spaces and covering the costs of education.
